How to get a job in AI and prepare for the future
How to get a job in AI and prepare for the future
If you’re one of the many people interested in the booming field of artificial intelligence, how do you find the right job and make sure that the career you choose has staying power? In this article, we’ll go over some of the best ways to choose an AI career that will appeal to both your interests and your skill set while not feeling like dead-end work a few years down the road. We’ll also cover what you can do today to prepare yourself for one of the most exciting fields in tech today and beyond!
What is Artificial Intelligence (AI)?
Artificial intelligence refers to machines that can think, reason, and make decisions like humans. They've been popping up everywhere, from popular TV shows like West world and Black Mirror (which explore AI's possibilities) to behind-the-scenes technology that powers things like Apple Siri. Artificial intelligence is nothing new — it has been around since 1950 — but advancements in computing power have made it possible for machines to do more complex tasks with more accuracy than ever before. According to one study, 46% of US jobs are at risk of being automated within two decades by developments in AI.
The Pros and Cons of Working In AI
One of today’s most popular fields, artificial intelligence touches nearly every part of our lives. But not everyone is eager to go down that route. What’s it like working in AI? Can you make good money doing it? And what kind of skills do you need? This post lays out all the answers...
What Skills Are Required To Work In AI?
Artificial intelligence is still in its infancy, so there aren’t many established paths to take when entering into it. You don’t have to have an advanced degree—or even a college degree at all—to work with artificial intelligence. But what you do need is very different from what some other professionals need. Here are some tips on how you can enter into AI as well as some resources that can help you take care of business
What Is The Salary Like?
It really depends on where you live. But generally speaking, most companies that use artificial intelligence have teams of engineers who implement it. If you’re part of an engineering team at one of these companies, then your salary is likely comparable to other positions within your company that require similar skill sets. For example, as an engineer at Apple, Google or Microsoft – all companies that use artificial intelligence – you would earn around $70K USD per year or more.
Where Do I Start?
Now that you’ve read about artificial intelligence (AI), you probably have a lot of questions: What is it? What does it do? Is it safe? How can I find out more about it? Maybe your head is spinning from all these questions. The best way to learn more about AI is to talk with people who already work in fields related to AI.
